UMCN and Australian Capital Territory Natural Resource Management (ACT NRM) invite you to join the second in a three-part series of UMCN mini-forums for 2021:
Production and Biodiversity: Landscape, Community and Personal Resilience
When: Wednesday the 16th June, 8.30am – 2.30pm
Where: The Garden Room, Goolabri Estate, 202 Goolabri Drive, Sutton, NSW 2620
Who: Colin Seis from Winona will be talking about resilience from a land management and personal perspective. The Seis family was one of the early pioneering families of the Gulgong district, located in the central tablelands of NSW. We will hear about how land management at Winona has evolved over time to maximise resilience and production.
We will also be joined by Liz Clarke and James Diack from Soils For Life who will be talking about resilience from a social and landscape function perspective.Soils For Life supports Australian farmers in regenerating soils and landscapes to build natural and social capital.
In the afternoon Soils For Life will lead us through a workshop to learn some basic soil monitoring techniques to understand landscape function. We invite you to bring a cup or two of soil from your property to test soil pH and soil structure.
