Following on from our attendance at the NSW Government Community Forum held on 18 May 2022, UMCN and some of our member groups made submissions to the NSW Government’s Draft Murrumbidgee Regional Water Strategy.
Thank you to everyone who contributed towards the submissions.
Based on discussions at our last General Meeting and a survey of our membership, the UMCN proposed to highlight three main issues in water management in the Upper Murrumbidgee region:
1) Coordination of cross-jurisdictional water management,
2) Management of water in drought, fire and under climate change, and
3) Environmental releases from Upper Murrumbidgee storages.
